Frequently Asked Questions
How do I contact you?
You can contact me by email or by telephone for a free exploratory chat. I aim to respond to you within 24 hours
What happens in the first session?
We will engage in an assessment for you to explain your concerns and outline what you are hoping for from attending therapy; and also what you might expect from it. Once we have established your goals we can go through a treatment plan and then book sessions for you at a time that is convenient for you.
What will I have to do?
All work is based around your objectives, feedback from agreed weekly goals and what you want to achieve from therapy. You will have a specifically designed treatment program that will include a weekly therapy session and exercises to do at home. You will never be asked to undertake a sexual task in session.
How long are the sessions?
Each session is 50 minutes long.
How many times will I have to attend?
This varies from person to person depending on what difficulties they present with and the goals that they hope to achieve. At the initial session, or shortly thereafter, I can offer advice as to how long you may need to attend for, but this will be a collaborative process.
Is it private?
Clients attend with many very personal issues and confidentiality is extremely important to them. I work with the BACP Ethical Framework which puts client confidentiality at the heart of its ethos.
